Sig bet, Dins?

Post by RumpleForeskin »

Oregon is favored over Houston by 14.5. I'll take Houston and 14 points. Bet?

Asking for points on a sig bet?

Weak.

Oregon will win by 24+. Easily. And I'll still give no points on a sig bet.

Yeah, 'cus making that bet straight up will only make me look foolish in the eyes of others (don't respond with the "You alread are" jive). UofH sporting a new QB and going to one of THE most hostile stadiums in all of football??? They stand very little chance to pull the upset. Why would I even entertain the idea of a straight up bet?

Why would you ask for a sig bet if you already have a bet with Orc?

BTW, you already look foolish in everyones eyes. So dont be worrying about that.

Perhaps because by losing you’d get an opportunity to have something coherent and entertaining appear in your posts.

I might take that bet if they were playing at Robertson, but Autzen Stadium? No freaking way.

Well seer...

If you are the one starting the sig bet, you should be confident enough without the spread.

Shouldnt you?

That is fucking dumbest thing I've ever read on this board.

The spread is there for a reason....to make the bet fair. Sheesh.

I've NEVER done a sig bet on the spread. That is just fucking weak.

You can throw a gentlemen's bet out there that you cover, even a monetary bet. But no sig bet unless the stipulation is, in the case Oregon beats Couger High by say 10 points, Rumple provides something like the following for Dins "Oregon may be no world beater but they can still beat Couger High with a weak effort."

No way can anyone claim :bode: against the spread unless it's the pick'em game.

I would be open to bartering on the spread, but it wasn't even offered by Dins after the initial bet I made.

Screw the sig bet.

Dins, give me 12 points with the Cougs for $20.

That's the way. Spread is fair for monetary bets. Sig bets are for pride and pride alone. How can you take pride in losing a game by less than the spread? If I bet on A&M as a dog and they lose but cover the spread, I still am pissed and could care less about the money.

That "Oregon only beat Houston by 10" sig would be pretty brutal.

I dunno -- if Bellotti doesn't pull his head out of his ass and run the ball up the gut with his two top-notch backs, beating anyone by 10 might be an ambitious goal.

Oregon vs Houston - STRAIGHT UP!

If Houston wins, Dins will slumpbust Rumplewife. But he has to provide his own grappling hook and scuba gear.

Again, instead of counteroffering with your own bet, you call me gay? Whatever. I knocked the spread down 4 points.

Sorry. I should have called you "stupid" instead.

I made a counteroffer, dipshit.

I won't be asking for any points when I offer up the sig bets next week. Because I have unwavering confidence in my team's ability to go beat a heavy favorite in a hostile environment.

Because that is how non-pussies roll.

I have no interest in making cash bets over the internet, be it here, or any other site.

But it's nice to see that after multiple people pointed out what a pussy you were, that you went ahead and changed the terms you originally offered.

Kinda sucks for you though -- if Houston wins, I'll be entirely too busy swinging from a shower rod to log into this site.
