He just guaranteed their salary in case they weren't retained and they didn't latch on with another school. Given some of their performances, it could be the last paycheck they get for awhile.

Then Rodriguez damn sure could have waited until after the announcement to call the kid and tell him he wanted him at Michigan.

The way he handled it was scummy, plain and simple.

Listen, it's considered pretty poor form when you're still working at a job to call up your leads and tell them "Hey, I'm leaving for this company. Come on over" Particularly when you're still on the old company's dime-particularly if you had used your current company's resources to build a relationship with the client.

Yeah that's called smart business. You need to look out for the future. And Pryor wasn't a WVU client, he was a prospect client, they provided a quote, and maybe Pryor likes the salesman more than the product.

Having switched companies, I have done the same thing. My room mate is switching real estate firms and he is doing the same thing.

I was just about to interject that this is a common occurance in my industry (real estate) and it isn't looked down upon unless the client was brought in by another person and "handed off" to someone else. Everyone else is fair game on your list.

Yeah, and offensive linemen used to play QB in high school. Mallet can move around a little bit for his size, but there's no way he runs anything resembling RR's spread option offense. And it appears RR knows this, hence going after Pryor so hard.

In my field, when an attorney leaves a firm, it's the client's call whether he goes with the attorney or stays with the old firm. Depending on the situation and the type of fees involved, there may be some compensation to the entity that loses out.

But I don't think there's any way to make an appropriate comparison to college football in this case. Among other things, recruits have to be vetted through admissions, etc.
