Really bad.

REALLY REALLY bad.

I've lost track (Did they fire six shots or only five? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I’ve kind of lost track myself) of the number of shots to the heart of the country these dipshits have fired in just a few short months, but THIS one will be, I'm afraid, a near crippler.

Yes, this is really bad.

The Dems sneaked it in under cover of darkness at 3:09 am.

Doesn't the Senate have to approve this first before it can take effect?

No matter, just another reason why reps will win the mid-term elections and boot these dumbfucks out.

Chill out, 'tart. This country can't and won't be destroyed from with-in.

Drilled it, pops. We're fucked.

But it ain't over yet.

Word has it that the Mules in the senate don't have the votes to make it stick.

If ever there was a time to rattle the cages of your state's senators, this is it. Get off your ass, pick up the phone, make the damn call, and demand to know which way your senator intends to vote. Be sure to let 'em know who you won't be re-electing with their "yes" vote on this suicide bill.

Fuck these motherfuckers. I want my country back!

Is this the Cap and Trade stuff ?

I'm not too worried as it seems to be working very well in Europe. 25% increase in energy costs ? No big deal. We need to become more like Europe, it isn't the shithole the founders and ancestors of this country thought it was, it's progressive. They've come close to pushing us towards the goal twice in the 20th Century and they're leading the way today still.

Relax fellas, it's going to be A-Okay.

I feel more enlightened and progressive now that the House has taken one small step towards Ecotopia.

Very astute quotes Truman.

Here's another.

The warnings about global warming have been extremely clear for a long time. We are facing a global climate crisis. It is deepening. We are entering a period of consequences.

AL GORE, speech at National Sierra Club Convention, Sept. 9, 2005

How can the rich and elite afford their private jets, junkets throughout the world and life of luxury when common average citizens can afford energy ?

Think this through Tru.

Of course you don't want to pay more. So you'll cut back. By cutting back you will allow those with the means to afford it to not have to cut back AND take credit and make a mint for saving the planet.

And with government controlling healthcare too, I'm quite sure they won't be too quick to dispense those all important home devices that help keep people alive ... but require a lot of electricity.

Oh, I dunno Tom...

I suppose it all depends on whether you actually accept the premise of Global Warming Climate Change in the first place...

"...Our approach to global warming exemplifies everything that is wrong with our approach to the environment. We are basing our decisions on speculation, not evidence. Proponents are pressing their views with more PR than scientific data. Indeed, we have allowed the whole issue to be politicized—red vs blue, Republican vs Democrat. This is in my view absurd. Data aren’t political. Data are data. Politics leads you in the direction of a belief. Data, if you follow them, lead you to truth."

Pollution is still pollution regardless of whether or not you believe the temperature of the Earth will rise a single fucking degree.

It seems that chemical/energy lobbyists can slap on the "Global Warming Hysteria" tag on any issue to blind you to the fact that they'd like to freely dump all sorts of toxic sludge in your back yard and have you go along for fear of being branded an "enviro-pussy".

You probably live near a toxic landfill/illegal dump and you don't even know it.

Do you live here?

I'll tell you why this is bad.

72 fukkin degrees every day at the end of june. You ever try to grow a fuggen' tomato in 72 fuckin' degrees? Now that the federal gubmint has decided that it is time to unchange the climate, we'll have about 65 degrees.

I'll never have a good home grown tomato again and those fukkin' tomato like objects at the supermarket are a joke.

I ran to the store last night & heard on the radio Mark Levin foaming at the mouth about this. He certainly gave me a chuckle. He ranted about how other countries who don't care about the environment would end up taking our jobs. Funny how when corporate america outsources jobs to increase their profits the conservatives say nothing; yet when this bill get passed they're suddenly worried about, as mvslevin put it, "losing red-blooded american jobs." :meds:

This is the most economically ruinous legislation ever passed in the history of this nation. It is made even more idiotic by the fact that we will not derive one iota of benefit from it. Nothing.

So where was the debate? Members of Congress didn't even have copies of this 1,200 page monstrosity let alone time to go over it before voting on it. What was the big hurry?

This is a complete and utter disaster and I believe you're dreaming if you think the Senate is going to stop it.

Dreaming?

Being as how the bill passed by a thin margin in the Dem dominated HoR, I would think it's going to be very tough to get this thru the Senate. There are going to be some very pissed off constituents calling and writing their Senators, both Dem and Rep, urging them not to vote for this fiasco. I doubt even one republican will go along with it, and that several dems will reject it as well. Doesn't it require a 2/3rds majority in the Senate? That ain't gonna' happen.

Imbecile, if you want me to agree with you that global warming is a hoax, then fine.

I just want to know why nobody seems to give a shit any more about other contaminants, as if global warming is a great liberal con job, therefore mercury poisoning and sulphur dioxide toxicity doesn't exist.

Ah. So what you’re saying is that you were yucking it up ‘long side the likes of the Chicoms, India, and Brazil, eh, Piedo? ‘Cuz I guaran-damn-tee you that they are presently laughing their fucking collective country asses off at us.

If you seriously think for two seconds that Red China and India are about goosestep merrily along with Ofacist’s vision for Green industry, then clearly you have slipped into the same make-believe-land occupied by the 9-year-olds you allegedly bugger.

As for businesses beholden to their shareholders and scrabbling to make a buck in a World Economy, did it ever occur to you that these companies ship jobs overseas due to the avarice of so-called Union “leadership” and to escape usurious state and federal taxation?

Diego in Seattle? What a waste of carbon. Grunge artists would deem you unworthy of their contempt…

Science, Merde, we fixed acid rain for you Canuckleheads 20 years ago.

What the fuck more do you want? World-class healthcare? Oh, wait…

S’long as YOU understand that this bill – and subject of this thread - is about Ofacist’s vision to curtail carbon emissions, specifically, carbon-freaking-dioxide, and the ruinous effects that said bill will have upon the American economy.

For the record, Merde, I DO give a shit about the other contaminants… But they do not presently play partner with doubling my out-of-pocket for my electric bill or contributing to the skyrocketing cost of everything else I purchase in the near future.

As for the Straw Man definition… Re-read the topic and get back to me. You moved the goalposts, I didn’t….

The amount of pure bullshittery in just THIS 2:25 teleprompter workout would fill every outhouse from coast to coast.

umm ..yeah, we're idiots, Barry.

When have businesses ever just sucked up a BIG rise in operating cost like good little lemmings?

They pass any rise in cost of doing business right on to the CONSUMER, you lying piece of dogshit on the bottom of my shoe.

Are China, India, others -- you know, our ... COMPETITORS ... onboard with cap & trade??

Sure, they're gonna fuck themselves in the @ss just like you want us to do, right, mr community organizer rogers?

Do this guy's dipshit supporters even think about anything he's saying, or are they so drunk on fantasies of taking his dick that they can't possibly think?
