Nebraska's defense gave up 9 points in that ISU game. The Clowns had just 1 drive the entire game. Nebraska was -8 in the turnover battle. The fact that they only lost by 2 points in a game where they were -8 shows just how dominant their defense is. Let's give some fucking credit to somebody other than USC once in a while. Nebraska's defense has the ability to, on any given day, do just that to any team out there. They might lose to teams like ISU and get pounded by Taco Tech, but they have the ability to shut you down as well. That's what they did to Texas. If they play that well on defense, they will do that to any team.

Nebraska could play all the defense they want against Iowa but it won't matter because Lee would just hand us that game. Our offense wouldn't even have to score. We pounce on QB's like that. It's all about matchups in CFB, something you know nothing about.

Nebraska could not necessarily BEAT anyone, but they sure as fuck can hand around with anyone because their defense has the ABILITY to absolutely shutdown the best offenses in the country. So while you say Texas scabdicked, I say Nebraska's defense played one fucking heck of a ballgame. Now, do I think the Huskers can play THAT GOOD on defense every week? No, of course not.

Iowa is a horrible matchup for Nebraska. It's not that Iowa is without a doubt a much better team, I just don't see any possible way they could beat us. There are actually teams that are probably better than Iowa that I could see them beating. Again, matchups are all that matter in CFB. You mix in emotions with physical talent matchups and that's how games are won and lost in this sport.

This is why Iowa always beats Penn State. Iowa is not always the better team (see 2008), but our style of play matches up well against them and we typically have an emotional edge most years (except for this year because Penn State had the whiteout and revenge on their minds). Penn State cannot beat us right now unless we are having a down year (see 2007). They will not beat us next year. Nebraska also would not beat us this year for similar reasons as to why PSU keeps losing to us.

mvscal, in all seriousness, what running attack has Texas faced this season which really proved that Texas is all that dominant against the run? There was nobody OOC to even be worth mentioning, and nobody in the Big XII even begins to run the ball like Bama. So, whatever stats they've built up are essentially meaningless, since those stats were built on the backs of a schedule which was one, long non sequitur.

Texas has one weapon which could pose a serious problem for Bama, and it's their passing game. None of Bama's opponents could pass much, with the exceptions of Pick Six Snead and Throw On Every Down Arky Mullet. Problem is, that Texas passing game was completely throttled by the two good Ds Texas played this season, and I'm sorry, but Bama's D is every bit as good as OU's or Nebraska's.

Do they have any one player as good as Suh? No. Nobody does. Overall though, their team D is at least as good, if not better.

Either way, it'll never be as bad as being Iowa. USC's bad seasons - 8-4, with a win at Big 10 champ Ohio St - are still better than most good seasons for Iowa, so who gives a rat's ass about anything to do with Iowa football?
