The Battle
Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Original man had God's Word in the center of his heart.
We left this Word and the result is that we placed created things in our hearts.
Think about yourself.
People are SO anxious and full of worry and discontent.
We think we can manage a way to make things better, to have things work out, to find the happiness we so desperately want to have.
But the created things we grasp for all crumble, and inevitably so.
Man was made to live by the grace of the Creator.
Apart from this is death, spiritual death - Genesis 2:17.
Spiritual death signifies the state of the person who has not met God.
The ruler of this world drags him around, causes all manner of suffering, and then takes him to complete separation from God for eternity.
It's a heartbreaking scenario.
Because we are totally powerless against the onslaught, God promised and delivered complete restoration through Christ.
There is no other method.
Just believe it and take it, and it is FINISHED.

It's not just you, Felix, it's where we've all gone.
That's why the world is such a strange place full of strange people.
The 2nd commandment that you cited was cut short there.
God warned against bowing down to idols.
This is in line with our conversation here.
When you "bow down" - put those things in your heart in place of God, you undoubtedly come under a very harmful influence of satan.
Heartbreakingly, such is the world and such are people.

Exodus 20:2-5
2: I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3: Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
God is the only God.
Don't make idols (something to put your heart and/or worship into other than God).
Don't bow down to idols.
There is nothing wrong with having a picture of Jesus.
If the picture is an idol, that's a pretty big problem.

Mvscal, I AM has called me to relay His Word to you.

Re: The Battle
Sam - understand that I am not saying I would toss my child in front of a bus because I think God told me to.
I would do so if God DID tell me to do so.
Surely you're not here to say that a judge is to be held in higher regard than the One who created him?

Re: The Battle
Mvscal, Felix' question is goofy.
But he asked a question and it's polite to give a genuine reply to it.
God's not going to be asking me to toss my child in front of a bus or any such thing.
Zeus and Odin never did anything to demonstrate that they are God.
Jesus, who is the Christ, surely did.
You can deny that if you choose to.
We have that freedom.

Basic understanding would be good.
You're flailing, Felix.
Jesus death and resurrection was a fulfillment of God's plan and a fulfillment of much prophecy of such.
It signalled an end to many things that necessarily went on in Old Testament times.
Interesting info, but it has nothing at all to do with the discussion.in modern times, christian zealots can justify just about anything (blowing up abortion clinics and the assassination of abortion doctors) if they believe god is speaking to them...I can envision a scenario where some antiabortion nutjob kills his son/daughter because they legally perform abortions....
I don't support mayhem done by people who think God has told them to cause such harm.
I support giving people the Word of Life, so that they can be taken out of the certain destruction that awaits them.
Not true.all we have is third, fourth, fifth and sixth hand accounts of what this person was to have alleged to have done and documented in only one manuscript that has been shown time and time again to be fraught with errors and inconsistencies....

He gave us the Gospel because we are spiritaully captured within satan's hand.
We are powerless.
Through belief in Christ, we have freedom.
This is the method God gave for us.
John 6:29
Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
Apart from this, goodness and works can not solve a person's fundamental spiritual problem.
Everyone, without exception, will fail entirely.
