Re: Conference Championship Sunday
The Packers are a bunch of chokers away from Lambeau Field, end of story.

Re: Conference Championship Sunday
The Pack needed to bank more than 16 points in the first half. Reminds me of the Lions...didn't do enough to put the game out of reach.

Re: Conference Championship Sunday
Playing 60 minutes would have done the job too. The Packers were celebrating after Morgan Burnett's INT with a little over 5 minutes left in the game. After that GB had zero defense.

That game was won. There were more fuckups in the last 5 minutes than I care to list. That was tough to watch. I called Seattle over New England in the Super Bowl weeks ago. Still looks good to me.

Btw, I don't know if I've ever seen a more horrendous play be a DB than the "play" Clinton Dix made on that 2 pt conversion by Seattle.
Wtf was dude doing there?
It looked like one of those dumb cat videos on youtube where the cat sits and wiggles for a few seconds as he sizes up the leap he's preparing to make... only to fail in epic fashion as he barely lifts off the ground.

Re: Conference Championship Sunday
I don't agree. This is classic Monday Morning QB analysis. The Lions were only up 3 points in the 4th quarter. There was much more pressure and urgency for them to score. The Pack, on the other hand, did settle for FGs, but the bottom line is they took a 16 point lead into the half against Seattle on the road. You'll take that all day if you're Green Bay, just as any other team would. Nobody thought they would be in that position. They even came out in the second half and promptly forced a three and out. They were sitting pretty.Shoalzie wrote:The Pack needed to bank more than 16 points in the first half. Reminds me of the Lions...didn't do enough to put the game out of reach.
This game was really lost in the last 3-5 minutes. The slide-down after the INT, the blown play by LOL Clinton-Dix on the 2 point conversion, and the botched hands team play on the onside kick, were the reasons they lost this game. Credit Seattle for making the plays, but it still took a pretty crazy series of events for them to pull it out, aided by GB's complacency/dumbfuckery late in the game. Even then, GB still had a chance to win in OT but they couldn't nut up on defense like they had done most of the game.

Q: What do the final 2 teams standing have in common?
A: They were both beaten by The Kansas City motherfucking Chiefs.

Patriots will stomp Seattle 35-10. They'll build a nice lead by halftime and won't let up like GB did. No love lost for NE, but they know how to finish.Goober McTuber wrote:I called Seattle over New England in the Super Bowl weeks ago. Still looks good to me.

Re: Conference Championship Sunday
I think this is a natural reaction to how Seattle played yesterday, but I believe they'll be up for NE and play better in the Super Bowl. They've whacked GB for years now, and I think overlooked the Packers somewhat, although I doubt they'd admit it. NE will likely look closely at yesterday's game and try to confuse and pressure Wilson similarly. I'm not sure he can ad-lib enough plays for a victory, especially if NE can run the ball. Seattle has to shut down the run and pressure Brady. Whoever is able to run the ball will have a distinct advantage.War Wagon wrote:Patriots will stomp Seattle 35-10. I'm sick of most of the media dry humping Brady with NE the dynasty crap, and hope Seattle pulls out another victory.

Unlike YAFJ, I do bet on sports, not just talk shit. However, I don't bet foolishly. I may run smack foolishly and you may truthfully accuse me of that.
$50 seems about right. You might win a free entry into JFFL 2015. That's an open invite because we always need new blood. How we haven't drawn your number yet is ponderous.
And if I win, I'll donate it to Smackie's radio crusade.

Re: Conference Championship Sunday
I think Dom Capers had a good game plan. One thing he does not do well is make adjustments later in the game when the other team's OC starts making adjustments. I also think McCarthy was way too conservative early almost exclusively calling run plays down near the goal line and then settling for threes. He coached scared, they played scared. Special teams coach needs to go. 7 blocked kicks this year, then the fake FG and the botched onside kick. But it's mostly a young team. Hopefully they learn and take the next step next year.
Now we're treated to a Super Bowl featuring two detestable coaches and two of the shittiest fanbases in pro sports. Yay.

I don't play fantasy football and I'm not betting 50 bucks on the outcome of a game I don't really care about. How about 20 bucks to the winner's charity of choice. Straight pick'em, no spread. I'll take SEA and you've got NE. Deal?$50 seems about right. You might win a free entry into JFFL 2015. That's an open invite because we always need new blood. No they don't. They haven't closed one out in ten years. They have been choking in the postseason since 2005.War Wagon wrote: No love lost for NE, but they know how to finish.
Seattle won't even have to watch film of the Patriots run plays. Last year in the SB there was at least a threat of it with Moreno, but the Patriots suck at running the football unless they are playing the Colts. Gray and Blount are castoffs who suck unless they are playing the Colts. So Seattle can spend time just worrying about the passing game and they will spend all of their time figuring out how to tighten up that soft spot of the field that was open for Rodgers to Rodgers (he should have thrown to the TE more). It's going to be an easy win for Seattle.I'm not sure he can ad-lib enough plays for a victory, especially if NE can run the ball. Seattle has to shut down the run and pressure Brady

Win a meaningful playoff game and then come back and make a comment.
